Today is the day!

We are going to meet little Roman in a few hours!

I started having contractions last night after going to bed. Around 2am I couldn't take the pain anymore so I woke Dan up and told him I was ready to go to the hospital. Being the standup guy he is, he very calmly got all the stuff together and drove us.

I had a few hours of some very painful back contractions before they finally gave me my epidural. This thing is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I feel like myself again. :)

So now we just wait. Hopefully it won't be too much longer :)

Week 38

Very very soon I'm sure I'll have some more creative titles for my blog posts, but for now I'm going to continue with the same theme....

We had our 38 week Dr. appointment yesterday. and everything is moving right a long. Weight and blood pressure are still good (although I wont dare tell you how much more than Dan I weigh. Yikes!). My cervix is between 3-4cm dilated, and I'm 50% effaced. I know it's weird, but I'm not having any pain or contractions. Obviously something is working, but whatever it is, is not hurting me.

I officially have one more week of work left.  I'm still handling almost as much  as I did before I was pregnant. This is mostly because almost everyone else is pregnant. I will miss seeing my friends everyday, but the Dr I loathe is coming back the Tuesday after I quit, so I'm pleased I get to avoid him completely. God's timing is perfect.

Last Saturday a few of my girlfriends threw me a baby shower. It was sweet and we had a great time. I did however, have a little too much sugar and junk food though, and I was feeling it by the end of the day. Most of my pregnancy (holidays excluded)  I've kept my diet fairly healthy.  I can really feel it when I eat junk food. I feel TERRIBLE!

Dan finally finished the dresser for the baby's room last week. I know, I know- we're cutting it close. I'll post pictures soon:)

The Dr has scheduled for me to be induced on the 4th, but hopefully I'll be posting picture of our beautiful baby boy before that!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

36 Weeks

Today we had our 36 week appointment. Everything still looks great. My weight is creeping up, but still in the normal range. My blood pressure was really good actually, and my asthma has remained controlled without the medication.  The doctor did an ultrasound today to see how the baby was positioned. It's always fun to see the baby on the screen, but now he's so big all you can really see are knees and elbows. :) You'll be happy to know that baby is in the head down position. So now we wait...

Dan's had the last week off for the holidays, but unfortunately he also got a cold while on his vacation. I think it's from working on his car in the cold garage, but no matter how he got sick, he's feeling rather miserable right now.

I had to work during the holidays, but since I was the only one not on leave, I had some nice, relaxing days just covering for the receptionist. However,  now that we are back into the swing of things (regular clinics and surgeries), I'm noticing how hard it is for me to get through the day this late in my pregnancy. I was hoping to work until the end of my pregnancy, but after this week I'm not so sure I'll make it. It doesn't help that almost everyone else is pregnant, and can't really pick up the slack.

Everything else is going well around here. I took today off to hang out with Dan a little during his vacation. He worked on his Camaro for most of the day, while I watched. I provide the morale support. It's a very important job ;)

Brand New Year

I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

We spent last night at home with some friends. We had a good time, and I was grateful I could sit in a comfy chair most of the time and relax. :)

Being a military family, Dan and I are no stranger to change, but 2013 will definitely bring the biggest change we've ever experience. Just a few more weeks (potentially) until we get to meet this little guy. He's growing more and more everyday. They estimate he's around 6lb, and 18 1/2 inches long. I have my next Dr appointment on Friday, and they will check to see his position. This appointment will start my one week appointments until he comes.

This pregnancy has flown by, and I know everybody always says it, but really, where did the time go?

I hope 2013 holds many blessings for you and your families!
