Fun with the Girls Part 2
Here are some pictures from the zoo. The first part of the week was rainy, chilly and windy, and so when we heard that Thursday's weather was suppose to be sunny and warm, we took advantage. Thanks to my parents for taking us all to the zoo. Enjoy the pictures!
Watching the manatees swim
Polly in the special glass bubble to watch the manatees
The Giraffe (my personal favorite)
This polar bear was enjoying a meal
Me and Tigger with a bronze elephant.
The elephants (Polly's favorite animal) weren't really up for pictures. This was the best I got, since they had their rear ends to us almost the whole time.
Riding the train
A big cat- not quite sure which one anymore =)
Polly trapped in a big spider web
Just some crazy ape
"Miss Hollywood"
A black bear catching some rays
This peacock was really working the crowd. He had showbiz written all over him
Tigger patiently waiting for the train to start
Looking at the potbellied pigs
And finally, did I mention that the tulips were beautiful? See for yourself

Fun with the Girls Part 1
While my older sister and her husband are away in England, I have been watching their children, Polly, Tigger and Sweat Pea. We've been having a blast, and although originally I meant to post pictures as I was taking them, it didn't happen. So without further ado, here are some of the items we've been up to during the first part of the week.
We painted our fingers and toes (well, I pretty much did all the painting):
As you can tell by the pictures, we are having lots of fun. I have plenty more pictures to show everybody but I'll put those on another post.

We went to a park:
Uncle made them chocolate pudding- delicious!:

Baby Shower
Just got home a little bit ago from my youngest sister's baby shower. It was very nice, and her and her hubby came away with a lot of great things for my future nephew. He's going to be one very well dressed little dude. Of course another major perk of a shower is that I always enjoy getting to see family and friends that I don't normally get to visit with. I wish I got to see you more often!
And...I'm keeping this post short, but I just wanted to mention one more time, that yes, I'm aware that I didn't bring any fruit dip. I'll do better next time =)

Truck Update
So.....went and bought a new battery today for the truck. My brother-in-law was kind enough to install it for me, in the cold, cold rain. But- it didn't work. Nope. The truck still won't even turn over. No lights. No clicking. No nothing. Unless my dad finds something in the morning, I guess I'll have to get it towed to a shop so they can check it out. Which, incidentally, I already made an appointment at a shop to look at my other car on Thursday. So if you happen to think about me during the day, then pray for me, as I have no car to drive, two cars to fix, and not enough money to do to it all with. There- I've said my piece, counted to ten, and now I'm going to bed.
Vehicle Blues
We have two vehicles. One I drive all the time and the other is my husband's classic truck. Classic, as in a 1973, ginormous, purple beast. Both are here with me while he is away. With two vehicles at my disposal you would think I'd have no trouble getting from place to place. WRONG!
Let's rewind to a year ago when Dan was deployed for four months. My car started acting up, and no one seemed to know what was wrong with it. During that time I started to drive the truck since I didn't feel comfortable in the car. Well that lasted for a few days before the steering wheel started coming off. Yes folks, I said coming off. I had to hold my palm on the bolt to keep them from coming out, while at the same time turn the wheel with my other hand. Veryveryveryvery nerve racking. Thankfully my friends (this is mainly directed at you, Vicky) took me from auto shop to auto shop and helped me get wherever I needed to go while I got my car fixed, and waited for the parts for the truck.
Of course Dan came back a few months later and all was well.
Fast forward to now. Dan is once again gone for four months. This time I am staying with family so they will help you out whether they want to our not. Isn't family great! Anyhow, once again I cannot drive my car because it needs work. Major work. Thousands of dollars in work. And, once again I have to use the only vehicle available to me- the truck. Wouldn't you know it, I was staying with some church friends last night and when I went to start my truck this morning, the battery was dead. dead dead dead dead dead. And folks, I was located no where evenclose to my parents house. Of course I called my dad and he talked me through jumping it (I'm sure he was close to a heart attack on the other line, while I fiddled with jumper cables), but it was no use. That thing wasn't waking up. So, my dear mom came and got me, and now I am again without Dan and with two vehicles that don't presently work.
Dan, if you're reading this, I am either inventing a teleporter like in Star Trek or you can never leave again.

Zeus and his new friend
Okay, more dogs pictures folks (I know, I know). Soon I will take some pictures of other things, but Dan forwarded me these pics from his mom and I thought you might enjoy them.

First, let me just say that we have never had a cat. My dogs, aside from George, have never even been around a cat. So I was a little scared about how Zeus would act once he met my in-laws cat, Charlie. Would they hate each other? Would Zeus attack it the first time he saw it? I mean, my in-laws are very easy going people, but I seriously doubt that even they would want their cat all mangled. I'm just saying..... But-as you can see from the picture, my worries were unnecessary.
