First Signs

While checking on my garden this evening, I noticed my peas are the first seeds to make an appearance. Grow, grow, grow little peas! We can't wait to partake in your deliciousness :)

Taking a Moment to Brag

Isn't he just sooooooo handsome?

Okay, okay....perhaps you don't wish to comment on that; however,  I did snap this photo so you could see the new ribbons he has for his uniform. He recieved 2 new ribbons with this last deployment so now he has four rows. Four rows! I remember when he only had one....*sigh*

Cause and Effect

Early this morning, I was awaken by a thunderstorm. Oh! how I love a good thunderstorm; however, we rarely get to enjoy them here. Along with the thunder and lightning was a wonderful soaking rain. Unfortunately this rain left the ground very very wet. Soaking wet, actually. And you know what happens when you mix wet ground and four dogs?

Artwork from my pups.

I feel like there might be a mop in my near future.

Yard Work

Today we added some new plants to the back yard.We put in honeysuckle vine, red grass, a rose bush and a creeping myrtle.  Yes, I know I've already tried countless plants in the backyard, and the dogs manage to kill them all. But this time we're trying to outsmart them and put some barriers in the way. Behold our bamboo fencing :)

They have left this plant alone, but we're taking precautions anyway
Here is a closeup of the honeysuckle
 And the creeping myrtle

Also, I finally put my first plant into my raised garden bed. It's a sweet little Brussel sprout plant. And yes, we do like Brussel sprouts :)
Happy Monday (and Labor Day), Everyone!
