Plug

My sister, Karen, suggested I put a link to my Pampered Chef website on my blog. I took her advice, and it can be found here or on the left sidebar. Since I just started selling their products I'm not allowed to take individual orders on the site yet. You will need a host name for your order to be placed. If you are interested in ordering from the site, just let me know and I will give you an active host name. Or- if you know a few people that want to order products, I can list you as a "catalog" show, and you get the benefits of being a host (free and discounted products), and you don't have to worry about hosting a show in your home.  The host and guest specials change every month. I'll keep them updated on my site. Plus, you still qualify for the guest special if you are ordering on the site through another host.

So that's my plug for today. :) I'm really excited about this opportunity, and I want to thank everybody for their support!

Veterans Day

In Loving Memory

On every soldier’s tombstone

should be a message of honor, respect and love:

"In loving memory

of one who loved his country,

who fought against evil

to preserve what is right and true and good.

In loving memory

of one who is a cut above the rest of us,

who had the surpassing courage,

the uncommon strength,

to do whatever had to be done,

persevering through hardship and pain.

In loving memory

of one who was brave enough

to give his life, his all,

so that those he cared about

would remain safe and free.

In loving memory

of a unique and treasured soldier

who will never be forgotten."

Happenings Around Here

Hello Everyone! I feel like it has been a really long time since I have written a blog. It's not that things aren't happening around here. They are. But somehow I never sit down and write about any of it. Today, however, I took the day off work (long story short- I needed a break), and I thought it would be the perfect time to sit still for two seconds and write.

Our weather here is finally cooling down. It was fluctuating quite a bit, even into November, so most of my plants in my garden died. Right after I posted about my sweet little pea plants, the weather went back into the 100s. This, of course, zapped my precious little seedlings (along with anything else that was growing). I have since replanted them and they are doing well. I also have a tomato plant, radishes, and scallions growing. All my other seeds never germinated, so I'm not positive if it was me or the weather.... or both :). I planted them again, but still nothing came of them. O well. I'll try again in the spring

I started selling Pampered Chef last week. I feel really good about the decision, and since I already have a majority of their products, it seems like an obvious choice. It's also another easy avenue for income, and a way to meet new people.

Dan and I are looking into getting a new (old) car. Mine has almost bit the dust, and although he keeps fixing it, we're not sure it's in our best financial interest to keep it. It's odd how getting rid of my car makes me feel. It seems silly, but I love that car. It's the first car we got as a married couple and it's been driven across the country numerous times. It's been with us on every move but our first one. I don't know why I feel so attached to it, but I do. So there. Don't judge me

I still can't believe it's already November and the holidays are quickly approaching! Dan's family is coming out for Thanksgiving again, and we're always excited to have guests. That being said.....I do have quite a bit of cleaning to do in the spare room. That room becomes the catch-all through out the year, and I really need to make it look like someone could sleep in there. I did finish painting the cabinets in the spare bathroom. I haven't posted the pictures yet, because all the hardware isn't on, but I will finish that soon.

Another project I have on my list is putting together my trampoline. I.Cannot.Wait. Since we occasionally have some terrible wind storms, I decided not to assemble it until I buy the spikes to hold it to the ground. I'm not sure where to get those spikes; however, I must get them. It would be awful if my trampoline flew into the neighbor's yard. I'm just sayin.....

Dan's been working hard (as usual). Currently he's in charge of scheduling PT tests, which is not his favorite task, but he does such a good job at it, they keep asking him to do it. I guess they don't really ask him, but you know what I mean. At least they give him his own cubicle (hooray, hooray). I know he'd rather be out there working on the vehicles (which he is also a pro at, although I may be a little partial). He's also very popular with my girlfriends. :) They're always asking him car questions.  A few weeks ago, he helped my friend Cassidy change her brakes, and rotate her tires at our house. I know he doesn't mind doing it, and they appreciate the help. What a guy!

Speaking of Dan, for those of you that knew he was having trouble with his shoulder here is an update: He received a cortisone shot a month ago, and although it does help with the pain, it hasn't cured anything. He goes to see the Doctor soon, and I guess they will talk about surgery options. I'll keep you posted.

Well I guess that is it for now.

Happy Thursday, Everyone!
