Carry on.....
I never meant to go this long between blog posts, but 2014 just slipped away before I knew what had happened. Hopefully I'll do better this year- at least that's the goal. ;)
2014 brought many changes for our family. At the beginning of the year Dan was deployed and we had no idea when he'd be coming home. This posed a problem because he received orders to California that conflicted with his deployment orders. They ended up sending him home early and he arrived in time to celebrate Roman's first birthday.
A few days later we closed on our home *tear* and moved into our temporary living with one of Dan's coworkers. We crashed there for a few weeks before finally tackling the grueling drive across the country to take our doggies back to Cincinnati. That was a LONG, ROUGH drive and I never wish to do it again, at least in the winter.
After our visit to Cincinnati we headed back to Vegas for a short time more. Dan out processed from Nellis. Good byes were said. And with that we loaded up the truck and started our journey to California.
Our first few months in California were rough. Dan had to do some training at a different base for a month so we bounced around from motel room to motel room. It was really hard with a baby and a dog in tow. I think we stayed in 9 different rooms in the 45 days before we closed on our new house. Rough I tell ya.
I wish I could say after getting into our home we unpacked and settled in but that wasn't the case. We tore that baby up
It took us awhile to get the floors finished, but when they were completed we were so excited to have that project done.
Summer was mainly spent at the pool and the beach. Roman is quite the water baby
Also in the summer time I launched my sign making business. I've taken a break for the holidays but I have really had a lot of fun creating new things.
In the fall we drove back to Cincy to pick up our doggies and bring them to their new home. A week after we returned Dan had surgery on his right shoulder, which was necessary but not such a fun time.I participated in the Ventura County Color run:
In October we celebrated Dan's 30th Birthday and I was able to surprise him with this:
A new baby is on the way :)
During the fall we also enjoyed our first visitors, my parents. We spent a few days in LA, visited the beach, went to the Regan Library, saw the Griffith Observatory, and just enjoyed having company. I know Roman LOVED being spoiled by his grandparents.
They also got to be here for Halloween which was a lot of fun
We continued to keep busy when the holiday rolled around. We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas at a friends home. Holiday parties, my birthday, and play dates filled the weekends; however, we did manage to find time to sneak in a super quick trip to Disney. We met our close friends from Vegas, Nick and Cassidy, and had a blast spending the day with them.
Finally, Roman is growing and changing every day.
That's our year in a review. I'm looking forward to 2015 and what it holds for our little family. I'll try to keep everyone updated a little better than I did in 2014 ;)
Happy New Year!
