25 Reasons

Today is Dan's 25th birthday. So in honor of that, I thought I should make a list of 25 reason I love him
1. He is a very hard worker. That being said.....
2. I am so proud of him for the way he serves our country
3. He takes good care of me
4. He makes friends easily
5 And when  he's your friend he's very loyal
6. Once you tell him something, he is like a vault.
7. He loves animals almost as much as I do
8. He is very generous
9. He listens when I talk (and trust me it's a lot).
10. He has an amazing sense of humor...
11. Which keeps me laughing
12. He can back any car/ truck in any spot like nobodys business
13. He enjoys traveling and seeing new things
14. His family can always count on him
15. I can always count on him
16. He loves sports, and he's good at almost all of them.
17. If you ask him to do anything, you know it will get done right.
18. I wish he would cook more, because he's way better at it then me :)
19. He'll watch my chick flicks with me (and even maybe a musical)
20. He's just a laid-back and easy-going kinda guy
21. He is a gentleman: holding the door, walking on the outside of the sidewalk, carrying all the bags
22. He has the cutest patch of gray hair at his temples and he rocks it.
23. He's the most dedicated person I know when it comes to working out. He actually enjoys it. Strange, I know.
24. I feel completely safe when I'm with him
And finally-
25. Because life wouldn't be the same without him.

I love you, Dan. I hope you have an amazing birthday!

Little Snippets About Apartment Life

1. I have heard more car alarms in the last week then I have in my entire life

2. If your neighbor decides he wants to play guitar hero, you will (unfourtunately) have to listen along. And he will be trying to perfect one particular song because he will play it overandoverandover....

3. Our neighbor across the hall is an Elvis impersonator. Of course I find this fascinating, but since we live in  Vegas it's probably no big deal :)

4. I've already come home from work this week to find out that Zeus had locked Dan and Zelda out of the house. I couldn't stop laughing. Dan.....not so much.

5.You might find your neighbors grilling at six in the morning. Don't know. Didn't ask.

6. Getting up and walking the dogs to that itty-bitty patch of grass in the middle of the complex at four in the morning is not my idea of fun. Oh!- how I miss just throwing them out the back door.

And finally-

7. Did I mention the car alarms?

Apartment living

The movers have come and gone. They left us with a million boxes (slight exaggeration) and a huge mess (no exaggeration). But we're so happy to finally be in our own place that it's worth it. The movers were wonderful. Since we are going from a 3 bedroom home to a 1 bedroom apartment, we had to put things into storage. Dan went and rented a truck, and all we asked the movers to help us with was putting my upright piano into the truck. They did way more then that. Not only did they completely unload all the things from their crates, they sorted everything according to my wishes and then reloaded our rental truck! It saved us a lot of time and I'm so grateful they helped us like that. Now I can't say the same thing for the people that packed our items. The labels on the boxes don't match what is actually in the box and different rooms of the house are meshed into random boxes. So long story short- we find ourselves missing a few things. I'm sure they are here, but we've already taken our boxes to our 2 storage units (yes, I did say 2. We ended up needed another), so now we'll have to pull everything out of storage to make sure we didn't miss anything in any of the boxes. Pain. Guess I know what we're doing this weekend.

The apartment is really nice. The units are only a few years old. It's an open floorplan and the ceilings are extra high which makes it feel bigger. I'll post pictures when it's all put together. Right now there is so much stuff everywhere I doubt you could even tell what room you're looking at. :)

K- that's it for now, I have to get ready to go to work (y'know the place that pays me so I can even afford to live in this apartment I'm talking about).

Happy Wednesday.

Here's what is happening in our neck of the woods.

Now that I am no longer unemployed (finally), Dan and I were able to go today and secure an apartment. Folks, we have been married for five years, (and moved numerous times) and can you believe this is the first time we've ever had to live in an apartment?! I'm rather excited about the whole experience.  Of course I might be singing a different tune is a few months, but for now I'm pumped to get a place of our own. We were able to get a place that's not far from where we are currently living, so no time is added to our commutes to work.

How could we possibly fit all our dogs in an apartment you ask? Well we can't. We can only take two, so the friends we've been staying with are keeping George and Onyx.

I'm also trying to get an extra job, working a few evening shifts at Michaels. I talked to the manager today and he seemed interested in giving me a job, so we'll see. Hopefully he'll give me a call. I thought since we had to get an apartment, but we still have the mortgage, that I could take advantage of the extra hiring that's done during the holiday season.

Well that's it for now. Happy Monday, everyone!

Ladies and Gentlemen I Have a Very Important Announcement...

I got a job!

Praise the Lord for His great blessings! After two months of filling out application after application, I finally got a job (my one and only interview I might mention). I will be working at the Arts and Crafts center on Base. For those of you that don't know me as well, I worked at Michaels for six years, so this job (although it's not quite the same) is right up my alley. I will be taking orders for the various things they provide at the center, like embroidery, framing, engraving, wood shop, etc. I will also learn each of the stations so I can help out in those areas. I did custom framing at Michaels, but I've never dipped my feet into the other areas. I always enjoy learning new things, so I'm excited to get in there and train. The schedule is another major blessing. They close at 5pm during the week, and I don't have to work weekends.  This means I can always eat dinner and have my weekends to share with the hubs. Plus working on base means I get all the holidays and family days (military thing) off. I am beyond excited (and relieved) and I know a lot of you have been praying for me, so I'll just say a big THANK YOU right now.

On a different note, the home inspection was moved (yet again) to Friday. I'll let everybody know as soon as I hear anything. That is, of course, if they actually do it this time!

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

Delays

Due to some hiccups, our home inspection has now been pushed to Monday. Stay tuned.......
